Boredom with people and things

midlife boredom by dr. Barbara Moses

If you are looking at your loved ones, your job and hobbies and feeling a deep sigh as you sense the lack of excitement - there is a step to follow. The four minute video link above will give you that step.

This is the time to look at the why and a time to look at what else you can do that will bring the excitment back in. It is time to step outside of your comfort zone. I don't mean leave everyone behind while you take on a new adventure. I mean work on looking at some of the ideas or hobbies you felt you would like to do, but may have surpressed throughout life. This can be a time for those passions to now blossom. If your schedule is tight, schedule the time to work on the new hobby or interest at least once per week. Drop some of those things you no longer have an interest in to free up some time.

If you are not exercising, get out and take a walk either yourself, with a friend or take your family. We (my family) visited Ha Ha Tonka state park in 2010. It was an adventure, a nice walk and an interesting view of the burned down castle and its remains.
This is near the Branson area. I was in pain and still felt driven to walk and see as much as I could. I love the images and this will lead to completing a digital scrapbook from this trip. (scrapbooking hobby) For us, this is within driving distance and we can stay on a small budget and still see and do a lot. This of course, costs nothing to visit the park.

Make a list of your positives about each person in your life and what you like about them. What would you like to do, go see or just discuss?

I took motorcycle lessons a few years back. It has been a wonderful feeling of power and freedom within. Each of us have our own burning desire, if you are bored now - LET IT GO!
