Been working hard on my Business - Bridal Letter
I still need to spend time coming up with embellishment ideas and a video, but everything is moving along nicely now.
One of my favorite developments, kids favors for weddings to accommodate a wedding craft table. A very thoughtful addition to weddings expecting children to attend.
Shouldn't the paper cones you throw rice, lavender or millet bird seed be pretty? I think so and in fashion trending colors for 2012-2013. I have a great deal more to do on the website, blogs and adding more to the accessories line. The bridal business is an inspirational experience. It is amazing the huge variety of themes, personality and taste goes into a single wedding.

No Compromise Equals No Way to Work Though a Problem
When you find yourselves saying, "get out or I am leaving!", it may be because the issue your are fighting about is hitting a wall. When one or both people do not come together and compromise, it leaves no where to go with the issue but out the door.
Sometimes it is parenting teens or finances or career choices or growing apart. Either way, the end results will have the same options.
Personal experience in the past with that circumstance made it clear to both people that in order to stay together - compromise is part of making any relationship work. Your desire to stay together is the love, if that goes missing, compromise will be missing too and then it may be time to move on.

A new cross road in life and a temp stopping point on my mid life bridge
Just as I thought my life was starting to clarify itself a little better; it once again presented many new avenues to reconsider. My comfort zone and the unknown is currently holding me back a bit from moving forward across my "midlife bridge" at this point. There are multiple issues right now.
Issue #1 relationship - is it everything I need and want and allows me to be myself and grow? Is it supportive and am I supportive in return? Should I look back on my original needs following divorce and replay those to ensure those needs are met? Those original needs such as, do I feel like myself or am I spending more time accommodating and meeting someone else's needs more than my own and at the sacrifice of myself? Am I doing exactly what I feel I want to be doing now? Am I satisfied with my work? Am I just rethinking this because engagement is again presenting itself and I am scared of that idea? Is it more negative then I prefer?
#1 Answer.... Undecided
Issue #2 kids. - What should I do to help them be more motivated, goal oriented and independent? What options are there to get them outside the house and experiencing the real world? How can I help them feel happier and still expect them to do normal daily expected chores and helping out at home?
#2 answer as of Oct 2011. Allowing my daughter to have a boyfriend now at the age of 14 and her focus on forensics (form of theatrical debating) and journalism; she is now working towards things in life that matter. My son is finally restarting a hobby, RC car racing and the tech school for auto body is giving him a direction; ambition is still lacking. At the age of 17 he continues with talk about a cars, driving and a job.
Issue #3 my car - Will I fix the front end on time or not. Should I get the newer Nissan Altima now or wait? Now that 40 year old side of myself wants that little Infinity sports car instead with two doors, but it is just a tad too soon for that yet. My heart is clamoring after it passionately :)
#3 answer I fixed my old car and took the smart route, paying things off to make life easier. My new found interest is a 2008 Range Rover Sport with low mileage!
Issue #4 2nd BA degree - Should I go back to school and will I get accepted by such an Ivy league school? Do I really want to spend so much time on education again and less time on my hobbies and passions? How much will it affect my work time and businesses? If I do go, the loans delay and when I finish the 2nd BA and obtain the higher paying job, it will be easier to pay the student loans. Or will my business do very well soon and the additional education and higher paying job becomes unnecessary?
#4 Answer is of October 2011 - NO more school. I am done with degrees and now applying what I know is a better option and no additional loans to add to my rap sheet.
Issue #5 Focus - Have I reduced enough of the midlife extras I created over the last few years, down to a manageable group of things to work on and people to spend my time with? Or are there still too many projects and interests to complete. Is it time to prioritize again and reduce the projects a little more to produce a higher degree of focus and success and more time for family?
Answer #5 in October 2011. There is always more things to reduce and that is an ongoing situation. The difference now is focusing on and completing the top priority things first. Place a date on the other items and it will all keep rolling towards gaining more value from my time.
When there is that many questions again and a stopping point is reached again; it means it is time for a self assessment again to clear up the unknown and move forward across the bridge while feeling good about the choices.

Flickr and Paper.li - adding pictures and learning how to use Paper.li
Flickr - I spent some time uploading vacation pictures from Galveston Texas and Stampin Up Convention 2011 from Salt Lake City, Utah. I like how easy it is to send them from my phone to the site. The option to create a group is really cool, I would like to do that with the convention images and for weddings too.
Paper.li I figured out how to create it, but not sure how it is actually pulling content unless it is just from my FB, Twitter and blog pages directly. Really interesting new site but more help to use it is needed. Right now, my paper shows blank.Would be nice to add some articles directly onto the site or to edit a bit more freely. Thanks Adam Troudat for the link and tutorial, that did get me started.
6 Ways to Stop Stressing over People, Places and Things
Don't overwork and over stress your pituitary glands as my mom now tells me. So I came up with a new way of life to reduce stress instead of thriving in it daily.
6 Ways to Stop Stressing over People Places and Things
By Brenda Green July 23, 2011
1. Stop verbally fighting with everyone close to you. Talk to them more calmly and remind yourself to just let it go, with a few deep breaths and focus on responding more positively and/or use the wording, "I understand, I can see your point of view, I think that is an idea to consider, You may be right..." And when you talk to them, use the word "I" more than you use "You" so it doesn't sound accusative or blaming.
2. It is time for your passions and not just the things you have to do. Start dropping off those things you dread or just find you don't have time for and start placing your extra attention on your passions. Can't remember what they are? Explore your home, your dairy/journal, search around on the Internet, what did you love doing when you were a child? It is amazing how much better you can feel when you truly work on something you love and look forward to that time again. I have found some ideas in magazines and in attending a few club events.
3. Change your focus. If you hear yourself talking about all the things going wrong in your life or the money troubles or things happening that you find you now blame others more often; it is time to change your focus. This is a big step to focus on yourself first, analyze what is not working and come up with another option. Another way to handle people and situations.
4. Never under estimate the power of breathing! It sounds funny, but it is your most useful tool to reduce stress. It helps you breath through pain, take a minute to think before you speak and notice your surroundings. Use it to meditate or just to relax a few minutes. This is where places and things come into play, for me; getting on a small plane is an issue. I always take deep breathes getting on and up threw take off and then I feel fine.
5. Associate something you like or a place you enjoy when you feel stressed over the unknown things you are rolling over in your mind or for places creating a great deal of concern for you or when you are stressing over something you have to do or complete. It takes you away from the bad feeling for a while and makes you feel a little easier and relaxed. I think of walking on the beach picking up seashells, hearing and feeling the waves. (cliched, yes but works for me).
6. Short trip? Getting completely away from work and home opens your mind to the fact that there is more out there in life than just your small world. It also gets you away from any problems for a little while and you can enjoy new scenery, good food or take a book with you and sit somewhere comfortable to read. Maybe you like more action, watch a race or sporting event in another town or state. Go to a water park or amusement park. Nothing like some fun and laughter to get you out of a rut and think more clearly when you return home.

Nothing like travels to make a person feel great - Seals in Galveston, TX
May 2011 Moody Gardens seals in Galveston Texas. They just did their same swim over and over again. It is so engaging to watch them take full advantage of the space they were given. I highly recommend families to go and visit this special place.

What I am doing this summer with sales, bridal, baby and Blue Springs
What I (Brenda Green) am doing this summer. In May 2011 I visited the beach in Galveston, Texas. Was good to feel the sand and find so many shells and sea glass again. I think a 2nd home would be nice some day; one right on the beach.
Went to my first NASCAR race on June 5, 2011 thanks to Sprint Sponsorship. Very hot but very worthwhile and loved going. I can feel the NASCAR fan virus catching on.
I am trying to get my son out the door and working his first job, although I am not pushing real hard because I want him to do it on his own. I am feeling a lot of resistance. Why a teenager would rather be bored is beyond my thinking My daughter missed out on volunteering at the Jacomo Day camp, the one year she is old enough and then they moved the age up - big disappointment!
I am applying to About.com again, this one is for Wedding Invitations, so wish me luck! I really want to be a part-time writer.
http://mygarageandyardsales.com/ is taking off very well. This business is a lot of fun and it is a wonderful way to help charities and fundraisers when they have a garage sale or community sale to raise funds for their cause. I list them for free on my website. I am working on more articles to better help the people setting up a sale and all of us that like to go to them. So far: "5 Things to look for on Twitter and Why" and "10 Ways to go shopping at yard sales PREPARED". I am working on a staging your garage sale to make the best presentation of your things.
Bridal Letter is getting some additions to the line. I am waiting on the 40% recycled glass bottles for honey and I am working on the favors to use for throwing lavender or white millet bird seed - eco-friendly ways and no clean up for your ceremony locations.
Stampin Up - I am going to Convention for the first time in Salt Lake City, UT mid July. I hope to bring new ideas to use in my bridal and baby shower businesses and for people that love to stamp like I do.

About.com - On Backorder
As I gain more writing experience and opportunities, I will return to About.com again and apply for new writer jobs. I am grateful that they offer such a wonderful opportunity; especially now that blogging is such a big thing, growing every day.
I have attended the Blogging Summit 2011 in February and Social Media Summit 2011 in May, with plans to follow up with their certification offer this summer from White Paper Source. It is amazing the people, books and information found and how I can use it in every aspect of my online work. I have so much to read, I am learning to read fast and in sections rather than word for word in every book and article. Thank goodness for the Kindle too.

I applied to About as a part-time writer under Style etiquette
I found myself feeling very excited about applying to About.com as a part-time writer. The area suited to me is Style etiquette because of my bridalletter.com website and work in the wedding field. This became a very clear tool for me to use after learning more in depth about blogging through the 2011 Blogging Summit and social media from books (the summit is upcoming in May). It may be a while before I hear back, but it gives me plenty of time to add more articles to my own blogs and work as that already employed writer. I love it! I recommend anyone that writes or blogs to check it out as an opportunity to improve and work professionally.
All things discussed about blogging, working as a professional writer; even if just potential opened up a whole new door of ideas and opportunities. It gave me a much clearer understanding on how to look for and write that "quality content"the experts all talk about. I quickly found areas of missing information on the Internet that I was able to fill. There will be even more as I schedule time to create more for the bridal industry and I may do that for mybabyshower.com too.
I am new to Twitter, (@ reviewsbling ) but I am really loving it so much better now. So many contacts and new ideas and real time information to follow. The poor battery on my Android phone just drains down continuously on any given day. I maintain viewing it on a computer instead. I am anxious to learn more about Twitter.
This is truly a welcome opportunity and an excellent way to take my new found self and apply it to a new area in life that pulls it right out of that mid life rut. I hope all of you can find that one thing that does the same for you - the guiding light and new found bliss in and a new thing to do in life.
